The Best of Both Worlds

When I was back in Canada, I mostly ping-ponged between the countryside, where there were trees and water surrounding our every move, and a city where it seemed there were only buildings and traffic as far as the eye could see. Out in the country, it was lovely and tranquil but it wasn't long before I longed for easy access to shops, technology and people. When I'd return to the ...

Majestic Willow Tree in WaupoosWillow Tree Towers over House

The picture above is of a willow tree that my grandfather planted out in front of my parent's house in Waupoos, Ontario over sixty years ago. It seemed to be quite the attraction this summer as curious tourists drove by, slowed down, backed up and took ...

Bye For Now Waupoos

Well, I've finally returned to Denmark after my extended stay in Ontario. It was a wonderful vacation full of tosses and turns, highs and lows and new discoveries. The last weekend I was there was really wacky tobaccy. A $100,000 dollar jewel heist took place, a fatal stabbing and a car accident all happened in one weekend. Bizarre, as it usually is very tranquil and quiet in Prince Edward County. ...

Copenhagen Blues Festival

Hello and excuse moi for the blog tardiness. I've been getting in my last visits of the summer over here in Ontario and oh what a summer it was. Although it was quite rainy according to some, in my books it couldn't have been better. Anyhow, I'm all packed up with what seems like twice as much junk to sort out and dispose of and ready to fly back to ...

Crazy Days

Well, it is with deep regret that I officially said farewell to those lazy, crazy days of summer and am now looking forward to the autumn and with that, the trees changing colours, pumpkins, apples and Halloween.

The back streets here on Bridge Street in Belleville are always nice for an aesthetically pleasing stroll and I do that quite often. Unfortunately, these innocent strolls have been tainted by a nasty, little rumour ...

Seeing Mr. Frampton Live

First off, this blog has nothing to do with Copenhagen yet again but I'll be back in Denmark soon and consequently more on topic, I hope. I'm still in currently rainy Ontario.Yesterday and last night the weather was gorgeous and a friend and I were lucky enough to attend a gig at the Empire Theatre in Belleville and this was not just any gig.

Belleville which means beautiful town is ...

European Beer Festival

Autumn is really in the air and no matter if you are hanging your hat here or across the pond it is really getting cool. I'm still here in Ontario but scheduled to head back to Copenhagen at the end of this month.

My brother's friend just left here after an extended vacation as well, to go back out to western Canada. Before he left, he thought he'd bake us a fresh ...

Copenhagen Furniture Festival

We have had record breaking weather here in Ontario. Most people who were lucky enough to have yesterday off enjoyed the sunshine. However today, it is raining like cats and dogs so I'll be using my time to work and watch a little television. That brings me to my next topic.

The commercials for a popular furniture store are on the tele at the moment and they run them like clock work over here. ...

Life at the Roach Motel

Well, my vacation is just a buzzing by so I'm making a list and checking it twice. The list of which I speak is of people I have yet to see before I return to Copenhagen. I'll tell you now that this list is quite extensive and there's simply no excuse.

Usually I'm only over here for a couple of weeks, not a couple of months but I thought I'd take ...

Chris Chown turns a Guitar Upside Down

Greetings all fair-weathered summer fans. The weather has been really looking up the last few days at a balmy 31 degrees here in Belleville. I'm still in Ontario but time is ticking by and it won't be long before I have to hightail it on out of here.

Just a heads up for those folks reading this blog. It has not much to do with Copenhagen this time but for those ...
