The second largest national forest is found close to Anchorage. The largest national forest is located in Alaska as well but its near Juneau. The Chugach spans an impressive 5.6 million acres. Exploring what it all has to offer would take you a lifetime, but what a great life that would be.

Hello, Anchorage is a great place to visit, with so much to do nearby. One word of warning though, there is no camping in Anchorage direct. So if your hoping to camp out, spend the first night in a hotel somewhere in Anchorage, and then drive to your location the next day, or you might end up sleeping in your car along the side of the road!
