The pet-friendly Residence Inn by Marriott Alpharetta Windward is a residential-style all-suites hotel 28 miles north of downtown Atlanta providing economically priced accommodation for both business and leisure traveler. The 103 all-suites hotel is in the growing suburb of Alpharetta and has facilities well suited to the long-stay guest with suites that have a fully equipped kitchen and a separate living room with sleeper sofa. Items included in the room rate are a hot breakfast buffet, a manager’s reception on weekday evenings, high-speed Internet access, parking, a morning newspaper local telephone calls and coffee available in the lobby 24/7. The three-story, non- smoking hotel has three meeting rooms for business or social functions. The largest can accommodate 35 guests. The property is a short drive from three golf courses and within walking distance of a shopping mall.

Long-stay guests at this inn say it offers tremendous value. Several frequent travelers to this part of North Atlanta say the breakfast here compares favorably with the breakfast at the more expensive Courtyard. The major different is the breakfast here is included in the room rate and you will pay $10 at the Courtyard. Families touring the area said the fully equipped kitchen enabled them to eat in and save the cost of restaurants. The money they saved enabled them to visit more nearby attractions like Six Flags over Georgia and the Kangaroo Conversation Center, with the largest kangaroo population outside of Australia. All the suites have a fireplace and fully equipped kitchen with conventional and microwave oven, stove, refrigerator with icemaker, dishwasher, toaster, coffeemaker and a full set of cutlery and crockery. There is a work desk with high-speed Internet access, telephone with voicemail and speakerphone, pullout sofa bed, cable television with movie and news channels, pay-per-view movies, hairdryer and an iron and ironing board.

This inn has an outdoor swimming pool, fitness center and sports court. The complimentary breakfast is the only meal served here but the inn does offer a grocery shopping service and the front desk has a list of restaurants that will deliver to the inn. Restaurants nearby include Vidalia’s Southern Steakhouse in the Marriott hotel, a Macaroni Grill and the Cabernet Steak House. The 24-hour front desk has safe deposit boxes, information on area events and attractions. Other amenities include a coin-operated laundry, full service business center, valet dry-cleaning and a picnic area with a barbecue grill.

From Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport (ATL) 35 miles: Take I-85N through downtown when the expressways split remain on I-85N and then take GA400N to Exit 11. Take left off exit onto Windward Pkwy and another left at the second intersection onto Westside Pkwy. The hotel is immediately on the right.
