This 199-room Hampton Inn and Suites Atlanta Downtown provides affordable accommodation for the business and leisure traveler who wants his or her stay in Atlanta to be right in the center of things. This boutique hotel is built into an historic office building that dates back to the 1920s. Many of the city’s major shops and attractions are within walking distance including the CNN Center, which has free tours throughout the day. Other attractions nearby are the Atlanta Aquarium, the Georgia Dome, home of the Atlanta Falcons, Turner Field, home of the Atlanta Braves and Underground Atlanta with its myriad of bars, restaurants and shops. The inn has five meeting rooms for social or business functions.

Many of those who have stayed said they thought they had found a bargain in downtown Atlanta. Most were impressed with the great service they received and would have no hesitation about recommending this inn to friends and family. The convenience of being right downtown, within walking distance of lots of attractions, was a major plus for many former guests. Some clients complained about the noise from the street outside, particularly at nighttime. However, this is downtown Atlanta, a big, bustling city and it does get noisy. All the rooms are air-conditioned have a desk with high-speed Internet access and the choice of one king size bed or two double beds. Other amenities include cable television with movie channels, telephone with speakerphone and an easy to set alarm clock. The more expensive suites have the added benefits of a refrigerator and microwave oven.

The inn provides a hot breakfast each morning and offers an “on the run” breakfast bag for those who cannot waste time eating in the hotel. This is the only meal served on the property but there are dozens of restaurants and lounges within walking distance include a Hard Rock Café. There is a coin-operated laundry on site and a business center. The 24-hour front desk has safety deposit boxes and information on all the city and area attractions. The fitness room has a full range of equipment and is open 24/7.

From Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport (ATL): Take I-85 north to exit 248C, International Boulevard. Go to Carnige Way and turn left. Hotel is on the right. From I-85 South: Take exit 249C, Williams Street. Go to International Boulevard and turn left. Take a right onto Carnegie Way. Hotel is on the right about 1 1/2 blocks down.
