The Hampton Inn in Horse Cave, Kentucky is located in the second town in Kentucky to get electricity in the 1890s. Hydroelectric power was harnessed from Horse Cave and the cave is only a few miles from this hotel. There's so much to do in downtown, Horse Cave. The historic buildings are extraordinarily preserved. Many of the buildings are on the National Register of Historic Places. There's many shops and restaurants downtown. You can also to visit Kentucky Down Under, where you can greet a kangaroo or feed a lorikeet. This is different than most zoos because you can get in the cages with the animals. It's in walking distance of the hotel. While you're at Kentucky Down Under you can visit the Kentucky Caverns. During your stay in Horse Cave you might want to check out Jessie James Riding Stables which is one of the biggest stables in Kentucky. The Repertory theatre may also interest you, if you like live performance art. Ask the friendly staff if you need help with directions or have any questions.
