The pet-friendly Residence Inn by Marriott Annapolis is a short drive form the United States Naval Academy and comprises 102 suites designed for the extended stay business or pleasure traveler. Each of the suites has a separate living and sleeping area and a fully equipped kitchen. Items included with the room rate at this two-story, non-smoking hotel are a hot breakfast buffet, a manager’s reception on midweek evenings, high-speed Internet access, local telephone calls, parking and coffee available in the lobby 24/7. There is one room available for business or social meetings that can accommodate 30 guests. The hotel is 30 miles from Washington DC. Other area landmarks and attractions include two golf courses, the Maryland State Capitol Building, the City Dock and downtown Annapolis, Annapolis Sailing School, Six Flags America theme park, the National Zoo, Quiet Waters Park and shopping at Arundel Mills Mall and the Westfields Shopping Mall.

Most guests had a great time at this Residence Inn. Many couples said it was an ideal place for a weekend getaway. The suites were spacious and well equipped and the employees had lots of helpful information for visitors to the area. There were however complaints from pet owners who thought the $150 sanitation fee was excessive. It is one of the highest fees charged anywhere. However non-pet owners said they would stay here again while the pet lovers said they would look elsewhere where the costs for the family pooch were lower. Read our customer reviews?

All of the suites have a fully equipped kitchen with a conventional oven and microwave oven, stove, refrigerator with icemaker, dishwasher, coffeemaker, toaster and a full set of cutlery and crockery. There is a fireplace, work desk with high-speed Internet access, telephone with voicemail, television with cable movie and news channels, pay-per-view movies, VCR player, pullout sofa bed, hairdryer, alarm clock and an iron and ironing board.

Restaurants nearby include the Lemon Grass Thai restaurant, Federal House Bar and Grille, Les Folies Brasserie and Mike’s Crab House. Other amenities include fax and copying services, a coin-operated laundry, valet dry-cleaning, daily housekeeping and a picnic area with a barbecue grill.

From Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI) 20 miles: Follow signs to Interstate 97. Follow 97 south to Route 50 east. Take exit #22 to the Riva Road exit. Turn right on Riva Road (south). Turn left at first light onto Admiral Cochrane Drive. The hotel is 1/4 mile on the right.
