About the Gershwin Hotel
It’s a modern art museum. It’s a youth hostel. It’s a funky New York City Hotel. The Gershwin Hotel is all these things. Located in the East 20s, you enter the Gershwin through a gallery full of paintings by Warhol, Lichtenstein and local artists. In fact, the Gershwin attracts a pretty artistic crowd, as well as up and coming fashion models and fashionistas. While some may not be comfortable with its location next to a sex club and an S&M club, if you have a sense of humor, as well as a sense of adventure, you might enjoy an inexpensive stay at this unique New York City hotel.

Reviews of this hotel are a mixed bag. A stay at the Gershwin Hotel in New York City is certainly a unique experience. Your preference for unique experiences will probably determine how much you like, or dislike the Gershwin Hotel. Although the hotel definitely makes an effort to be kid-friendly, the location definitely is not. Gershwin Hotel Accommodations
Rooms range from funky to fabulous. Rough it dormitory-style in the inexpensive Auberge Rooms. Need email? Upgrade to a private Standard Room. If you are bringing the gang, opt for a Friends and Family Room. If you want to save some money on food, splurge for a suite, which comes equipped with a refrigerator.
Amenities offered
If you are traveling with an infant, request one of the rooms with a designer crib. There also have kids' Internet kiosks. The hotel also features a variety of special events, which include art shows, concerts and dance recitals. The hotel also has a restaurant on site. Rooms have televisions, hair dryers and ironing boards. Pets are allowed.
