The Dylan Hotel is located in midtown right near ritzy Fifth Avenue. A boutique hotel housed in a historical building, the Dylan Hotel offers its guests a refined environment in cushy surroundings. The hotel seeks to get away from cold, modern, super-trendy decor with a more timeless look. Outside of its stylish doors, guests can enjoy sophisticated fun on Fifth at stores like Saks and Henri Bendel, or wander further north to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Central Park and Rockefeller Center are also nearby. Fans of Broadway and other live entertainment will love the Dylan Hotel's proximity to Times Square, Radio City Music Hall and Carnegie Hall. Fine dining is available at the Benjamin Steakhouse, or you can take a cab to find something else; the area doesn't have much in the way of delivery food, clubs or bars, so get ready to walk a bit.

The Dylan Hotel got good marks, but many hesitated to call it great. Some noted that the hotel could use a bit of renovating, or that some things were a touch out of place. Otherwise, people were satisfied with the service level and value. Many favor it for young singles rather than families or older travelers. However, the gothic Alchemy Suite looks like it would be great fun for a honeymooning couple. For events and business purposes, the hotel offers several meeting rooms for guest use. Valet parking is available. Pets are not allowed, and most rooms are smoke-free.
