About the Union Square Inn

The birth child of two brothers on business who were looking for an affordable NYC stay, the Union Square Inn combines comfort with affordability. Located on 14th street near Union Square and the East Village, it is not only a budget-friendly self-proclaimed European boutique hotel, but it's close to the East Village, Silicon Alley, the NYU campus and Cooper Union, and surrounded by dozens of bars, cafes, restaurants, and shopping.

I wouldn't necessarily recommend the hotel for a week long stay but it's definitely worthy of a one or two night stopover. Great for people of all ages looking for an affordable place, it's situated right in the heart of all the East Village action. One thing to aware of: there have been some complaints about basement rooms. I stayed in one of them, and it was fine for my standards (and it was only for a night), but for those who may like a little more sunshine in their stay, request a non-basement room. Other than that, you really can't beat the location. The subway is literally right outside the entrance, service is good, and you can walk to wherever you want to go. Read our customer reviews?

Union Square Inn Accommodations

The 5-story hotel offers 41 modern, comfortable rooms with private bathrooms, air-conditioning, Internet access and cable TV. Choose from five different rooms: Single, Private Twin with Pullout, Private Double, Private Queen, and Private Deluxe with Italian tile bathroom floors and a view of the city.

Amenities offered

In addition to 24-hour reception desk service, the hotel's Samantha Café serves delicious European fare including sandwiches, coffee, and pastries in a quiet and inviting setting. There is even some outdoor seating available--although limited--during warmer months. Hours are from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. during the week, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, and 8 a.m. until noon on Sunday. And all breakfast items are 10% off before 11 a.m.

From LaGuardia Airport - LGA:
Take the Grand Central Parkway East to the Long Island Expressway and go through the Midtown Tunnel. Bear to the Left and make a Left Turn onto 34th Street. Turn Right onto 2nd Avenue and right again at 14th Street. The Union Square Inn is on the right side of the street just before 3rd Avenue.
