I thought the hotel was great. It was a smaller hotel but still had great atmosphere. The people in the hotel were very helpful and everything was very clean.

Location is great to/from Penn Stationn & Airport buses; breakfast excellent as well as the excellent free internet connection. Hotel is great for quick business trips; I'd return because the staff made me feel welcome there
Nice & Clean - posted on 04/21/2007
I recently stayed at this Hampton Inn and was pleasantly surprised. The staff was very friendly and everything was extremely clean. There were fresh cookies and snacks at check in and they also had a free breakfast. The standard rooms are small (desk & bed), but it was fine for business travel. Another plus was free wireless internet connection. I will definitely stay again.

Lobby of the hotel was great. The employees made our stay wonderful. Rooms also nice.
Painfully Small Rooms - posted on 12/20/2006
I'm a business traveller and I generally like the Hampton Inn chain. I've stayed at this particular hotel 3 times and my only complaint is that the rooms are painfully small. It's really too bad, too. The building has a very large set-back from the street and if they'd just taken a bit of that and put it inside the rooms it would have made a big difference.

The staff was great- the room was neat as a pin. Our view was of the office building next door-- but it's NYC- Free Breakfast was great as was the HOT coffee. But, where were the ice machines? And it might have been nice to have a shuttle to the airport.

Good location and good rate, but it is very small, and was not very clean for a new hotel. Paint peeling in bathroom, dirty hallways, construction going on, paint cans, tools in hallways all day, staff very nice. Breakfast was ok, seen better, pay more if you want comfort, good for 1 night
I am very disapointed - posted on 01/23/2006
When I booked my hotel on the net with Hampton Inn, I thought I was going to get the service that I have always received at other Hampton Inn's throughout the country. At this hotel, the rooms were very uncomfortable, and the service was poor. I had booked, and confirmed a non smoking room, and when I arrived I was forced to take a smoking room for the same rate as a smoking. When I was on the net, the smoking room was about $10.00 less, and when I explained it to the person checking me in he said this was a request, and they did not have to conform to it if they did not have any rooms left. I was very upset, because I did not even get the $10.00 reduction in the rate. I was still charged the non smoking rate. The person checking us in was very rude, and wanted us to make a decision quickly if we were going to accept the non smoking room.

This is a new Hampton and a new building on 31st street close to Macy's and the subway. The rooms are small but so is every other New York hotel room. The room has a LCD TV in it as well as free high speed internet access. The breakfast was decent as it was free. The elevators are very very slow. I had to wait about 5-10 minutes to get an elevator in the morning. There are two elevators but that certaintly isn't sufficient for the amount of floors. This is a great new place close to everything!

I just returned from NYC (l0/l0/05) and stayed at the brand new Hampton Inn on 31st. It was a very nice and small hotel with nice rooms, very comfortable beds. The service was great and staff very helpful. Free breakfast was nice. All in all I would stay here again. Also, it was close to everything...Herald Sq. Area.

A friend & I spent 2 weeks. Some remodeling inconveinience. Very clean, spacious rooms w/ super comfortable beds & good quality linens, bedding, etc. Some staff was excellent but many just didn't seem to have a clue what was going on. In all we had a good stay in a good location to see NYC from.

room about 25% smaller than typical room. lighting poor. Only 1 chair in room. Too small for more. Evening bellmen need to shine their shoes. Desk needs telephone training. Lobby floor needs sealing and/or buffing. Continental Breakfast well done! Good rate.

This hotel is new and beautiful! The rooms are tight, but to be expected in NY. Extremely clean! The hot breakfast rotates daily and the warm cookies in the evening were a bonus. And if you don't have time for breakfast in the morning, they will give you a bag to go. Staff very courteous and were quick to fix a problem with the a/c in our room. They go out of their way to make sure you have a great stay.

I can't believe this hotel had vacancies. It was great! Super clean, comfy and nicely appointed - loved the free DSL. The contentantal breakfast was hat, fresh and had something for everyone - no need to eat out. The best is the fresh baked cookies by the check-in desk around 6 pm, but where was the milk?
