The Genesee River provides you with a beautiful view of the city and is one of the reasons Rochester is such a picturesque city. There are also acres of fantastic parks, which means you will have an abundance of great hiking trails just waiting to be discovered.
The locals are hard workers and that is quite evident considering Bausch and Lomb, Xerox and Kodak all have their headquarters here. Im sure one of the reasons Mr. Eastman started Kodak was to capture the scenery that thrives here. A great place to see some natural beauty is the Sonneburg Gardens. If you are interested in photography head over to the International Museum of Photography and explore all that it has to offer. Other great sites include the Strong Museum and the Rochester Museum.
One of the more unique sites/stores in Rochester is the impressive House of Guitars. Although it sells more than just guitars and has a fantastic collection of music memorabilia, it is definitely a house filled with guitars. Perhaps Warehouse of Guitars would be a better name though. Need some big names to validate it? How about Aerosmith, Ozzy Osbourne and Metallica? If its good enough for the legends chances are youll find the perfect guitar for you.
